23 May 2009Claire and Chris’ Wedding Day

Claire and Chris’ pre-wedding shoot was only a couple of weeks ago (and it rained!).  I’m pleased to say there wasn’t a drop of rain for their wedding day – the sun was gorgeous.

The boys started the day with a quick snifter of Brandy (but it didn’t distract them from their important duties Claire!) and Dave (the best man) had some trouble with his tie.  Thankfully Dad (Matthew, Chris’ Brother-in-law) knew what to do.

Sandra Rose supplied beautiful bouquets for the day and Penny from Pink Treacle was hard at work arranging the place settings in the Marquee when I arrived – they looked great Penny!

Claire looked amazing in her gorgeous wedding dress and Benjamin Adams shoes.  Note to self:  Check who made the wedding dress, it’ll make these posts much more informative.

The ceremony was held at St Nicholas’ church in Guisborough and then we were off into The Priory (no, not the rehabilitation centre!) for some portraits afterwards.

Back at the Marquee, Paul Lytton, the fantastic magician, entertained the guests before dinner.

As great as the speeches were, Nicola (Chris’ sister and one of the Brides Maids) was given a present that stole the show ‘Chunk’ (you’ll spot Chunk in the pictures below).

The legendary Jump The Q finished the night off with some fantastic music.

You can see all of Claire and Chris’ wedding day in the Album Design, or if you have the password, view the pictures in The Viewing Lounge.

And, now I’m off on holiday for a week in Woolacombe.  Bring on the surf!

14 May 2009Sam and Jonathan’s Pre-Wedding Shoot

I can honestly say that I’ve never laughed as much on a pre-wedding shoot as I did with Sam and Jonathan at the gorgeous Embleton Bay last month.  The bay itself is beautiful, curving round to Dunstanburgh Castle to the south.  We did battle the wind a little but the sun was shining and all was right with the world.

Sam and Jonathan will be the first couple I photograph after I turn 40 in July (I really don’t like saying that!).  They’ve booked The Morritt for their reception – a gorgeous hotel near Barnard Castle.

There’s a little slideshow of their favourites here.

10 May 2009Claire and Matthew’s Pre-wedding shoot

We had sunshine!!  For the first time this year, I had a pre-wedding shoot in the sun and it was indeed gorgeous.  Claire isn’t a fan of having her picture taken (like lots of my clients) but I’m pretty sure I put her at ease – the pictures certainly don’t look like she was nervous.  Gorgeous – yes, but not nervous!

Claire and Matthew are getting married at my local church later this year (and yes, I’ll be 40 when I shoot it!) then back to Matthew’s parents house for the reception.  I’ve known Matthew’s family for quite a while, but the last time I was in their garden for his mum’s birthday party about 15 years ago!

Enjoy a few of their favourites below.  There’s a few more images in this slideshow.  All of the images are in the Viewing Lounge.

1 May 2009Claire and Chris – Prewedding Shoot

It was over a year ago that Claire and Chris commissioned me to cover their wedding later this month.  In that time they’ve moved from a little house to a lovely farmhouse in North Yorkshire which is where they wanted to have their pre-wedding shoot.  My brief was to capture them in their home and ‘on their land’ (to be said with a country accent).  I hope I managed that.

The pictures are online in the viewing lounge. There’s also a little slideshow here.
