22 Apr 2009Welcome Eva May
My sister gave birth to Eva May last night at 10.38pm. She was 7lbs 10oz and is lovely. They’re now at home, less than 24 hours old and Uncle Mark got stuck in with his camera – I suspect I may be taking a few more!

After worrying about the weather we had a lovely (if a little windy) day for Joanne and Stewart’s wedding starting with the ceremony at Matfen Hall and ending with the reception at Seaham Hall – two amazing venues in one day!
Joanne looked amazing in her Alfred Angelo wedding dress and Stewart looked very handsome in his kilt – the only member of the wedding party brave enough to wear the tartan!
The Great Hall at Matfen has a grand atmosphere, but it was greatly enhanced by the beautiful sounds of Peter Finlay on guitar. After the ceremony we were piped into the gardens by Derek Millmoor on the Bagpipes. Later the two of them played a fantastic version of Flower of Scotland – stirring stuff.
This was my first wedding at Seaham Hall and I was very, very impressed. A stately exterior and a stylish interior made for some fantastic photo opportunities. The staff were very attentive and the food was gorgeous.
The evening’s entertainment as provided by Colin Cook – without a doubt the best mobile disco in the region (if not the country). Colin had installed some atmospheric lighting around the outside of the room, matching the green colour Joanne and Stewart had chosen for their wedding day details.
