10 Oct 2009John and Anna’s Wedding AKA Black Saturday
Although it was October and considering that we hadn’t had the best summer, the weather held for Anna and John to have a gorgeous wedding day at Crathorne Hall Hotel.
John got top marks for being ready on time although one of his best men (called Anna – yes, she’s a girl) was a little late, but oh so classy! The boys had some fun times trying to tie their cravats, finding this YouTube video very helpful.
Anna (the bride this time) looked stunning – and that was before she got her dress on. She was so relaxed that she was able to step in and be my assistant (I needed someone to hold a reflector for the flower shot – note for photographers, a couple of pillows make a great reflector).
The ceremony was held just round the corner at the lovely little parish church in Crathorne village and there was the required amount of emotion and hairclips! BTW the picture inside the car is for the Evening Gazette and was a special request of the groom! Note to potential clients: Please don’t think I normally take pictures like that!
The Autumnal colours on the trees looking amazing as the wedding car drove back into the hotel grounds, we were able to sneak off to the stables for some pictures.
The Best Men and the Ushers were given some truly unique gifts – caricatures of themselves – it wasn’t difficult for them to strike the pose for real. Speaking of wedding gifts, the best present was from a Mr Alex Lester – John’s DJ hero. You can read about it on his blog here.
You’ll find a few of my favourite pictures from the day below, or if you’d like to see the whole wedding day, then take a look at the draft album or if you have the password, all of the images are in the Viewing Lounge.
PS The Black Saturday gag is John’s – nothing to do with me!
