As many of you may know, I enjoy a trip to the seaside for a pre-wedding shoot – Saltburn being one of my favourite places.  Nic and Dave had to walk to the end of the road as they live in Saltburn – brilliant!  I’m looking forward to their wedding next month at the beautiful Gisborough Hall in North Yorkshire – I played there back in my Fantastic Shirts days (my band) but this will be my first time as a photographer, which is great – as much as I like working at familiar places, a new venue really helps the creative juices flow.  We’re also planning a wedding day trip onto the beach which, weather permitting, should mean some stunning shots.

I love a good laugh and that’s exactly what we did on Katy and Dan’s pre-wedding shoot – it was brilliant.  We had great weather and Katy and Dan make such a lovely couple – I ended up shooting twice as many shots as normal!

The wedding isn’t until next year at a venue that’s new to me: Oulton Hall (which looks almost as gorgeous as Katy and Dan – sorry, was that a bit cheesy?!)

“It’s not my thing, but if it helps us get better pictures on the wedding day then I suppose it’ll be OK” said Stephen after we’d had the pre-wedding shoot.  Now you have to understand that the vast majority of my clients have a great time on their pre-wdding shoots, so when Stephen said this to me I was a tad nervous.

What if he didn’t like the images? (mind you, I think that after EVERY shoot! )

What if it upsets the relationship I try and build with every client?

So at the Pre-Wed viewing I was uncertain what kind of response I might get.  I set up the slideshow and pressed ‘play’.

What can I say?  They loved them!!!

I always invite my couples to delete any images they don’t like.  Wendy and Stephen got rid of about 4 from the 60 or 70 I showed them.  That’s a job well done!
